Announcing our New Intuitive Painting Facilitation Apprenticeship Program!

​The Center for Creative Exploration is offering an in-person hands-on apprenticeship program where learning takes place experientially through practice of intuitive painting and facilitation. Senior facilitators provide ongoing mentoring/training for people interested in facilitating the intuitive painting process. 

 

REQUIREMENT

  • Minimum of 1 year of personal painting process experience (minimum 75 hours)

 

RECOMMENDED

  • Previous leadership or facilitation experience 

  • Recommended: facilitation training with Michele Cassou, Stewart Cubley, Cherie Ray or Chris Zydel

  • Support Materials:

    • Taking “Principles of Process Arts” online course, Stewart Cubley

  • Books:

    • Life, Paint and Passion, Michele Cassou and Stewart Cubley

    • Point Zero Painting, Michele Cassou

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Workshops: Three weekend workshops on core intuitive painting principles, philosophy and experiential facilitation practice.

  • Assisting & Practice: Assisting weekly classes, workshops, day-longs. You can work with adults, children, or both based on your interest.

  • Facilitation Practice: Chances to lead parts of classes, Open Studio, or intro classes. Each session includes guidance during the class.

  • Mentorship: After each session, a senior facilitator mentors you with opportunities to reflect on strengths/skills exhibited, and feedback to focus on for further growth.

  • Process Review with Senior Facilitator: Review a selection of a student's painting process as a tool for facilitating, and to encourage dialogue and questions.

  • Studio Management: Learn how to run a fiscal and physical painting studio.

  • Final Project: Plan, design, and facilitate a class of up to three hours (co-teaching with a fellow trainee is optional). Includes feedback.

  • Commitment: One-year duration with reflection and feedback at the end.

 

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE

  • Three facilitator training weekends (45 hours of live, in-person training)

  • Registration fee for either Committed to the Core OR 1 Essensual retreat and 4 - 8-week class series

  • A one-on-one session with each facilitator

  • Group coaching twice a month on Monday evenings (6:00pm - 7:00pm) run throughout the program

  • Studio Apprenticeship & Practice: 8 classes (including set-up and clean-up). Depending on experience and comfort, you will either:

    • Shadow: Watch the lead facilitator and learn how the studio works

    • Assist: Help facilitate a small part of the class and try brief interactions with a few students under guidance of lead facilitator

    • Co-lead: Facilitate the full class in partnership with the lead facilitator

  • Certificate of Completion given at the end of each year​

  • January 29 – 31

  • May 21– 23

  • October 22 – 24

    • Friday Evenings, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

    • Saturdays, 10:00 am – 5:30 pm

    • Sundays, 10:00 am – 5:30 pm

FEE STRUCTURE & PAYMENT PLANS

  • Tuition: $6500 

  • Deposit to hold your spot: $1,000 (number of participants: maximum 12)

  • Remainder due by November 1, 2026​
