Classes​ & Workshops for Adults - Summer 2023

CCE invites interested painters to join a 9-month program that brings us together for a regular intuitive painting practice. This ongoing intuitive-painting inquiry is anchored by three 7-day intensives, where all participants take a deep dive into intuitive painting together. Participation in person at our SF painting studio or on zoom is available.

ELIGIBILITY FOR PARTICIPATION

This program is for experienced intuitive painters. To be eligible, you should have done one of the following:​

 

• Attended at least one 7-day intensive

• Taken a year's worth of weekly classes (four 8-week classes).

• Have other equivalent experience.

INTENSIVE INQUIRY BASICS

This 9-month exploration offers painters and CCE a chance to create something organically. What happens if we come together, fresh, new, willing to try things wildly out-of-the-box, stir ourselves up for the sake of freedom and unconditional acceptance. We will combine CCE's usual painting classes with a series of longer intensives. To participate, painters must commit to all anchor events (outlined below) and must agree to pay in full (in advance or with a payment plan). Some scholarships and work trades will be available.

 

ANCHOR 1: Three 7-Day Intensives

We envision an in-person group at the San Francisco studio and ask for you to remember the power of being together in a room where, through our courage and vulnerability, we inspire each other to go deeper. Online spaces are available, on an individual basis, in the case of strong needs. (Please discuss your situation with Claudia or Maria before signing up.) There may be options to share or coordinate housing. If you live locally and can offer a room to someone, please let us know.

Daily schedule 

• 10 am–1 pm, morning session

• 1–2:30 pm, lunch

• 2:30–5:30 pm, afternoon session

• 5:30–6 pm clean-up

• 6 pm on, optional self-directed painting

 

ANCHOR 2: Regular Practice

As part of the application process, each painter will develop a plan for their own ongoing painting practice over the course of the 9 months. Options include:​

• Weekly classes

• Monthly or bi-monthly Intro/community classes

ANCHOR 3: Monthly Check-In Sessions

Each month from April through December, a 90-minute Zoom call will give program participants a chance to check in, ask questions, and share process highlights and lowlights.

FEES

$3,300 Early Bird Registration: paid in full by the end of day of February 2nd, 2026

$3,400 Full Registration due March 16th, 2026

$500 Save Your Spot Deposit due February 2nd, 2026 (non-refundable)

Fees are payable in advance or in monthly installments. Some scholarships or work trades are available. Interested painters should contact CCE to discuss needs and options. CCE also welcomes donations for scholarships for this program.

Deposit of $500 is due by the end of day of February 2nd, 2026 (non refundable).

Balance is due by March 16th, 2026.
